Kattakada: Marking the start of timely changes in industry, commerce and entrepreneurship, the Travancore Chamber of Commerce is beginning work based in Thiruvananthapuram. Its logo was launched by Dr. Saif Mohammed Obaid Saeed Al-Mesmari, President cum CEO of the International Academy for Science and Future Skills.
The inauguration of the Chamber's headquarters office will be held at Kattakada at 11 AM on 5 November. At the function, with Aruvikkara MLA G. Stephen as chief guest, Dr. Anil Balakrishnan, Associate Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Adani Ports and Logistics, will inaugurate the office building.
A chamber of commerce is a body that brings traders, industrialists, entrepreneurs and investors together, protects their interests, and ensures the support and cooperation that industry and commerce need to grow. It can discuss the challenges entrepreneurs face, build new business relationships, find investment opportunities, and so create new openings for young entrepreneurs and startups.
With the need for young people to move from seeking jobs to creating jobs, entrepreneurship deserves more emphasis. Bodies such as the Travancore Chamber can give young people the chance to learn about opportunities in business and to exchange ideas with experienced entrepreneurs. For those wishing to start a venture, guidance on market study, business planning, finding finance, understanding legal procedures and digital marketing will be very useful. If such support is put into practice well, young people can find self-employment and create new jobs.
Startups that develop new products and services with technology need good support at the local level in order to grow. The Chamber of Commerce can connect young people with new ideas to investors and industry experts and help build entrepreneurship networks, said TCOC President Dr. Shaiju David Alfi.
